Join the FAMAS team and help shape what we do this semester. Whether you’re interested in building fun events or creating the visuals and content that bring them to life, you’ll have the chance to contribute your ideas and take real ownership of projects.

Programs & Events

Help turn ideas into events that people genuinely want to attend.

You could get involved in:

• Developing event concepts and activities
• Building timelines, run sheets, slides
• Planning materials, event logistics and setups
• Supporting event-day delivery and problem-solving
• Making events feel welcoming, inclusive and well organised

You won’t be expected to do everything. You’ll choose project tasks based on what you’re interested in and what the team needs.

Creative & Communications

Help shape how FAMAS looks, communicates and connects with students.

You could get involved in:

• Graphic design and illustration
• Create social media content
• Posters and promotional materials
• Photography, video and event coverage
• Branding and mascot-related creative work
• Planning promotional campaigns for events and projects

You won’t be expected to do everything. You’ll choose project tasks based on your interests, skills and what the team needs.

How joining works

1. Submit your EOI

Choose one working team and tell us about your interests, availability and how you approach responsibility.

2. Selection and onboarding

We’ll select applicants based on their attitude, initiative, organisation, realistic availability and fit with the available projects. Selected applicants will be invited to a group onboarding and social session in Week 3.

3. Choose—or start—YOUR first project

At onboarding, you’ll hear about the projects and tasks available within your team. You’ll indicate what interests you most, and we’ll match contributors with work based on their preferences, strengths and the club’s needs. Instead of vaguely “helping out,” you’ll own a defined part of a real project—such as an event activity, run sheet, poster or promotional campaign.

We’d also love to hear about a new event, campaign or project you’d like to help bring to life. With the team’s support and approval, you also have the opportunity to build it from the beginning.

4. Grow into formal leadership

Contributors who show consistent initiative, communication and follow-through will be encouraged to nominate for formal committee or executive positions.

Formal positions are elected by FAMAS members at the end-of-semester Special General Meeting.
